Vintage hand carved Inuit stone sculpture depicting a kneeling woman fishing while carrying her baby in an amauti (traditional parka baby pouch) on her back. The base is carved with fish details and shows excellent texture work in the clothing and faces.
This is a solid, heavy stone carving with mottled gray, cream, and dark stone coloring. A wonderful scene representing traditional Arctic life.
The spear is missing, as shown in photos, but the sculpture is still complete, stable, and displays beautifully.
